The Moto X70 Air Pro, a smartphone that will be made available in China very shortly, is the next major release from Lenovo-owned Motorola. The official announcement is still to come, but the handset has already shown up on the TENAA certification platform in China, which has made most of the technical details known and also gave the speculation a pretty good foundation.

The certification document gives the Moto X70 Air Pro, model number XT2603-1, a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 1264×2780 pixels. This screen size and resolution are features that are typical of phones in the premium segment, while the earlier teasers from Motorola suggest a thin profile and a new camera layout.

TENAA has listed hardware details that suggest the phone will operate with an octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 3.8GHz. This pretty much points towards the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset from Qualcomm, a transition from the previous reports that tied this device to the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 5 platform. Benchmark leaks over the past few weeks have also pointed to an Adreno 829 GPU and Android 16 as the OS at launch.

By offering several different memory and storage combinations, Motorola seems to be branding the Moto X70 Air Pro as a high-performing device. The phone is predicted to come with RAM options of 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB, combined with internal storage of 256GB, 512GB, or even 1TB. There is nothing in the listing that points towards the support of expandable storage.

Camera hardware is one more major highlight. The smartphone, as per the certification data, will be equipped with a triple rear camera system, all utilizing 50-megapixel sensors. Besides, a periscope telephoto unit featuring 3x optical zoom is one such that is a part of these. An additional 50-megapixel front-facing camera also gets mentioned which is meant for high-quality selfies and video calls. The phone, it has been confirmed by Motorola, will extensively utilize AI-based imaging software in enhancing the photography and video output.

The battery that props up the Moto X70 Air Pro has a capacity of 5,100mAh. The earlier site of the phone in China’s 3C certification database was revealed to support 90W wired fast charging. Wireless charging support is likely to be there too but still waiting for final word. The device will be compatible with different types of networks up to 5G, as well as having Bluetooth and USB connections.

Besides, the phone is expected to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner for secure access and standard proximity, ambient light, and gravity sensors. Details of the dimensions from TENAA reveal that the phone has a size of 162.1×76.4×7.0 mm and a weight of about 187 grams which corroborates Motorola’s assertion of a thin and lightweight structure even with a large display and battery.

Motorola probably intends to unveil the Moto X70 Air Pro in China before the end of the month. According to the industry insiders, a worldwide release might be the next step, with India being the first market under the Signature line or as the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra to be the device. The release date and pricing information are still to be disclosed.
